Abstract

The adjustable-length lifting sling is particularly for use when hoisting a load attached at two or more points to the crane hook. It has an adjusting member (3) to which one end of the rope (2) is attached, and which has a cylindrical portion round which a turn of the rope is wound. The member can comprise two plates between which the rope passes, and which are joined by the cylindrical section acting as a brace. There can be a pivoting cam locking the rope in position against the cylindrical section.
