Abstract

The stabiliser is for a diamond-tipped cutting disc in a machine for cutting stone, e.g. granite. The dish is held vertically in a frame, and has flanges on each side spaced so that fluid pads are formed between flange and disc. The flange side facing the disc has a recess, into which opens a pipe for pressurised water. The upper disc section is within a covering, which is fastened to a slide piece. The covering has a hub for the disc. The flanges (6) are fastened to the covering, so that the distance between flanges and disc (3) is adjustable, when one wall (6) of the covering (5) is removed. The adjustment is via threaded bolts (26) passing through the removable wall. The bolts carry adjusting nuts (29) which may be fixed in the desired positions.
