Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to grind the tip of the tooth of a band saw under a condition that the grinding device is being mounted on a band sawing machine by a method wherein the grinding device is detachably attached easily to the existing band sawing machine for a wood working machine or the like in accordance with a necessity.
CONSTITUTION: The grinding device 4 can be remained in a condition being attached to the band sawing machine 5 at all times by attaching the grinding device 4 detachably at the back surface of the band sawing machine 5. An L-shaped platelike frame 13 is vertically secured on a guide table 12 and a supporting guide 15 supporting and guiding a back part 14 of the band saw 1 is secured to the frame 13. A rotary grindstone 25 constructed so as to be secured by screwing to a link 30 is selectable in the slant angle thereof and a proper grinding angle can be set with respect to the face of the tooth of the band saw 1. The grindstone 25 passes from the back side 54 of the tooth to the tip 55 of the tooth along the surface of the tooth while grinding slightly the surface of the tooth and secedes from the tip end of the tip 55 of the tooth, thereafter, stops to retreat. Thus, the tip of the tooth of the band saw may be ground under the condition that the grinding device is being attached to the band sawing machine.
