Abstract

The number indicator has a rotor which consists of a ring (1) graduated from 0 to 9 on whose axis is fixed a bipolar magnet (2). The indicator has a stator which has an annular soft iron armature having five teeth. On this armature is wound a toroidal winding having five series sections fed according to a code in a table. For each figure displayed four windings are energised. The stator (3) is fixed to a support (4) which insulates it magnetically from two consecutive indication. The information to be displayed is coded according to the table. Each stator output a, b, c, d, e, can take up 3 states +1 - or O. Thus the figure 2 is obtd. by applying a positive voltage to d and e and negative voltage at a, b and e are not energised. Two currents I1 and I2 circulate form d towards and from c to a. They create a field H2 which positions the rotor magnet so as to display the figure 2.
