Abstract

An electronic balance is powered from mains supply or battery and power consumption is reduced by switching power supply on only during weighing action. Allowance is made for series of successive measurements. When weight is measured control button (1) is pressed and memory (3) activates relay (2) to power the balance. Memory is controlled by AND gate (4) with inputs from weight memory (5) and "test weight is zero" circuit (6). A timer (7) provides switch off delay and balance stability is sensed by OR gate (8) via latching monostable (9). Manual push button (10) ensures balance remains powered.
