Abstract
PURPOSE:To use batteries stably for a long period by reducing the consumption of them by supplying electric power only for the actual operation time of a unit when the unit and a main body are connected mutually for operation, and by applying no electric power in the auxiliary operation time. CONSTITUTION:In a device which detects, for example, the thickness of a body 1 to be measured, a main body 4 moves over a unit 3M or 3N, descends to load the unit 3M or 3N, and ascends. Then, the main body 4 moves to the position of the body 1 to be measured and descends by some extent to vibrate vertically and finely by a contactor 31 according to the thickness of the body 1, and the unit 3 transmits the displacement as pulses. A control part 5 performs measurements in this sequence state. In this case, the electric power of the batteries of the unit 3 is supplied to the unit 3 through a push-button switch for the time required to detect the thickness. Consequently, the consumption of the power batteries is reduced and they are usable stably for a long period.
