Abstract

The safety catch for a passenger seat belt comprises a flat mounting (10) on the belt (11). The mounting has a projection (13) with parallel side edges and a cenral opening (15). A housing (20) is joined to an anchor point and has a free end into which the mounting projection (13) locks. The clasp housing (20) has a flat, oblong shape with rigid parallel rims (24) on one side for guiding the edges of the bolt (13). A flexible cenral tongue (23) forms a clasp which fits into the opening on the bolt (13).
