Abstract

The anchorage is a rigid metal strip, twisted through 90 deg. to flex in all directions and bolted to the vehicle bodywork. Its other end is enlarged and split, giving spring arms, one each side of a gap. It is encased in a housing to form a clasp. The end of the safety belt has a flat tongue, a pin passing through its thickness and headed both sides. This tongue is pushed between the spring arms, the pin locking in holes. To release the anchorage, a spring loaded button on the housing is pressed down; this opens the arms to release the pin.
