Abstract
The regulated d.c. motor has electronic commutation, where the windings of the rotor and stator are connected in star or delta. The d.c. supply is connected via commutating transistors, which are controlled via a selector circuit. The braking is by resistance control. Part of the commutating transistor network is used as the resistance braking element. The instantaneous value of the motor current regulator and the braking current regulator is derived from a common resistor, which measures current. The nominal value of the braking current regulator is higher than that of the motor current regulator.
