Abstract

The self regulating air conditioning system for a greenhouse has a solar heat collector plate (11) on the roof, through which water circulates through a supply line (18) to a tank (14) and a return line (19). This tank is positioned underneath the framework which carries the plants (15) being cultivated. The liquid being circulated also acts as shade for the plants. At the same time, a body of expanding material also heated by the sun fills a chamber (23) alongside so as to force water from a reservoir tank (13) into the circulation system. An equaliser tank (24) is also located overhead. The liquid also acts as a heat carrier medium. A layer of low melting point material (16) is also incorporated under the plant trough (15).
