Abstract

L'invention concerne la métallurgie. Le procédé faisant l'objet de l'invention est du type prévoyant la fusion d'une charge contenant du fer avec au moins 2 % en poids de carbone, jusqu'à obtention d'un bain primaire remplissant le four aux 2/3 de son volume, l'addition de fonte solide à ce bain jusqu'à remplissage de tout le volume du four, le bain secondaire ainsi obtenu etant ensuite chauffé dans le four jusqu'à la température de coulée, et est caractérisé en ce que ladite fonte solide est additionnée au bain primaire sous forme d'une fonte contenant au moins un élément de sphéroïdisation du graphite, à un taux supérieur de 4 à 10 fois au taux dudit élément dans la fonte à graphite sphéroïdal usuelle, ou bien sous forme de ladite fonte solide à teneur accrue en élément de sphéroïdisation du graphite et de retours ou rebuts de fabrication de moulages en fonte à graphite sphéroïdal à teneur ordinaire en élément de sphéroïdisation du graphite. L'invention permet notamment de simplifier le processus d'élaboration de la fonte et d'en abaisser le coût.
