Abstract

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé pour diminuer l'usure d'un composant, en particulier d'un pongeur de coulée fait d'une matière contenant du carbone, et plus précisément de la zone extérieure de celui-ci voisine de la poudre de coulée. Selon l'invention, ce but est atteint en ce qu'on alimente la zone extérieure du plongeur de coulée voisine de la poudre de coulée, pendant le processus de coulée, avec un gaz de protection. Application aux installations de coulée.
