Abstract

1.Un aparato para proteger una corriente de metal fundido durante la colada, cuyo aparato comprende un alojamiento que puede estar dispuesto debajo de una artesa refractaria circunyacente a una boquilla de colada, teniendo dicho alojamiento una pared exterior y un labio que sobresale hacia dentro desde la pared exterior para definir una abertura circular, y un anillo de cerámica que está soportado por dicho labio de manera que entre el anillo de cerámica y el alojamiento queda definido un paso, caracterizado porque el anillo de cerámica es cónico y está hecho de un material cerámico compresible, siendo la disposición tal que, cuando el anillo de cerámica es empujado a través de dicha abertura circular, es comprimido contra dicho labio y forma una unión hermética. 2.Un aparato según la reivindicación 1, en el que dicho labio se estrecha hacia su abertura circular. 3.Un aparato según la reivindicación 1, en el que el alojamiento está provisto de un segundo labio que sobresale hacia dentro desde la pared exterior para definir una segunda abertura circular, y la pared exterior de dicho alojamiento, dichos labios y dicho anillo de cerámica definen conjuntamente los lados de un paso encerrado circunyacente a dicho anillo de cerámica. 4.Un aparato según la reivindicación 2, en el que al menos uno de dichos labios se estrecha hacia su abertura circular. 5.Un aparato según la reivindicación 1, en el que el extremo más ancho de dicho anillo de cerámica cónico está provisto de una pestaña. 6.Un aparato según la reivindicación 2, en el que el extremo más ancho de dicho anillo de cerámica cónico está provisto de una pestaña. 7.Un aparato para proteger una corriente de metal fundido durante la colada.
