Abstract

The folding chair consists of three flat parts hinged together, and, when folded up, occupies a space a space contained between two parallel planes separated by a distance equal to the thickness of the thickest part of the chair. The first part of the chair is an inverted U-shape enclosing the two other parts. The top part of the inverted U shaped part forms the chair back, and the bottom part of the sides of the U constitute the front legs of the chair. The second part forming the seat is hinged to the first part and folds up inside the top of the inverted U-shape. The third part hinged to the two other parts forms the back legs of the seat and folds up between the front legs. A locking piece holds the seat in its folded up position.
