Abstract

The two shafts (1, 2) which are in line with each other are coupled together by a sq. section tube (5) with one end fitting inside a short length of tube (4) of similar but larger section. The other end of the tube is weldd to a sleeve (7) which, is in turn, welded to the shaft (2). The short tube (4) is connected by a transverse pin (6) to the shaft (1). This type of coupling allows a degree of axial movement and can accommodate any variation in the distance between the ends of the shafts.
