L'invention concerne un boîtier, notamment pour un dispositif d'affichage optique. Dans ce boîtier, qui comporte une plaque avant de support 2 et une plaque arrière de support 3 munies d'électrodes 6, 7 et enserrant un cadre 11 au moyen d'un rebord saillant 13, ce dernier possède la forme d'un ressaut allongé et est disposé sur le bord extérieur de la plaque 3 de manière à prolonger la face frontale 14 de la plaque 3. Application notamment aux dispositifs d'affichage optoélectroniques, à cristal liquide.
