Abstract

Rod has a core of high tensile insulating material and at each and fixings for the catenary wires. A covering of electrical insulation resistant to arcing is placed on the lower part of the core and the wire rubbed surface. The core is of glass fibre, with longitudinal fibres, impregnated with epoxy resin. At each end of the core are metal claws which pinch the wires. the coating is made of polytetrafluoroethylene, with glass inclusion and it can cover the whole of the core.
