Abstract
An insert forms part of a combustion chamber inside the tuyere casing, and includes a refractory bush inserted in the casing; the bush has external flanges forming cavities contg. a layer of thermal insulation; and the back end of the bush has a neck used with a ring to locate the bush in the casing. The bush is pref. fitted with a flange at each end and tapers towards the outlet end of the tuyers. Alternatively, a cylindrical bush may be used with a row of ring flanges forming cavities. The neck of the bush is pref. conical, tapering towards one flange. The bush is easy to locate in the tuyers.
