Abstract

Un cylindre d'alimentation auxiliaire à entraînement indépendant est monté adjacent et coaxial au cylindre principal d'alimentation; un rouleau auxiliaire de coupe peut entrer en contact avec sa surface. Pour amener une mèche rompue sur le cylindre principal, on entraîne le cylindre auxiliaire à une vitesse nulle ou faible tout en maintenant la rotation du cylindre principal à la vitesse normale; on provoque la reprise par le cylindre auxiliaire de la mèche rompue, on augmente progressivement la vitesse de rotation du cylindre auxiliaire jusqu'a une vitesse normale d'amincissement; et l'on déplace la mèche enroulée autour du cylindre auxiliaire jusque sur le cylindre principal.
