Abstract

The external wall-insulation system uses a cantilever bracket to create a cavity between the insulating layer and the external facade. The bracket is fixed to the wall by expanding self-anchoring bolts. The bracket fixes the insulation to the wall and provides for the demountable fixing of the facade. The bracket may be an 'L' shaped plate of stainless steel with the leg forked and terminally returned squarely upward. Two inclined cantilever stays project down from the root of the fork. The bracket may project through the insulation with a timber batten located between the forked leg ends.
