Abstract

The composite insulating panel (1) forms the outer leaf of the wall of a building and has two metallic U-shaped channels (17) cast into the concrete (5) of the panel to face the interior. The channels are cast slightly into the inside of the panels and a layer of insulating material (2) is held between the channels on the interior face of the panel. The top and bottom ends of the channels protrude from the panels and are holed to take bolts to fix the panel to other panels via capping plates or to fix the panels to the building.
