Abstract

Fixée au-dessus du plan de travail, la hotte affecte la forme d'une boîte prismatique ou cylindrique, renversée, sans couvercle, de contour adapté à celui du plan de travail. L'aspiration des fumées s'effectue à travers un large orifice pratiqué, soit dans la paroi horizontale de la hotte constituant son fond, soit dans l'une des faces du rebord Le ventilateur est logé dans un carter formant boîte d'aspiration couvrant largement l'orifice d'aspiration; les fumées sont refoulées vers l'air extérieur. Le courant d'air induit par le ventilateur entraîne autour de l'arête du rebord de la hotte, la formation d'un tourbillon, qui s'appuie contre la surface interne du rebord. Le tourbillon capte les fumées et les guide vers l'intérieur de la hotte. Celles-ci longent la face inférieure d'un filtre plan maintenu parallèle au fond de la hotte et à faible distance de celui-ci, puis traversent le filtre pour pénétrer dans l'orifice d'aspiration. L'invention peut servir à l'assainissement de l'atmosphère de locaux, d'habitation, de laboratoire, industriels.
