Abstract

The equipment applies a regular film of cladding material to a moving strip of mainly non-porous material. It comprises a cladding roller (15) on a horizontal shaft running in bearings (17, 18) adjustable for height, so that its surface can be maintained partly inside a horizontal reservoir (20), to which the cladding material is continuously fed. A supporting roller (11) guides the strip through an area where material is transferred to it from the cladding roller. The strip can be of aluminium, and in the transfer area it can be at right angles to the plane between the axes of the two rollers. The cladding material can be a lithographic light-sensitive mixture.
