Abstract

A compact screening sleeve (15) which can be centred is embedded in an insulating body which is produced from silicon rubber. Insertion parts (18, 19), which consist of semiconductive material, are contained in the end regions, facing the cables, of the insulating body opening (16a, 17a). The insulating half-shells (16, 17) which form the insulating body are for their part introduced into a pressed moulding consisting of electrically conductive material and whose half-mouldings (20, 21) are held by a flanged connection. The pressed moulding is embedded in an elastic filling compound (26) which is surrounded by an outer protective envelope (25). The connecting collar which is provided primarily for power cables, can be installed without twisting and has a long life.
