Abstract
The first enclosure contains methanol which is to be maintained at -30 deg.C. The enclosure has an agitator on a shaft driven by a motor. On the shaft there is a centrifuge pump. When the pump operates the methanol is pumped through the opening and passes into the pipe towards a regulating valve. From the valve the methanol is led by a pipe to an 'all or nothing' valve. A pipe passes into the heat exchanger maintained at a temp. of -78 deg.C. The methanol is also circulated by pipes and a valve which bypass the heat exchanger. When the methanol temp. in enclosure rises above -30 deg.C valve is opened so that the methanol can pass into the heat exchanger. The methanol circulated through the heat exchanger mixes with the methanol passing through the bypass pipe (16) into the input pipe.
