Abstract
The automobile air conditioning system is powered by a motor driven fan (26,27) in a volute casing (28). Air is induced through the suction branch (29) and discharges through the outlet (30) following the arrows (31). The air is then passed through a heat exchanger. An auxiliary branch (32) is connected into the volute at the point of highest depression (or greatest suction). Air from the vehicle is induced through the branch inside which is located the temperature regulating probe. The fan is so placed that air is induced over the probe due only to the movement of the vehicle i.e. with the fan switched off.
