Abstract
The safety system for a projectile includes a mechanism operated by spin and axial force after firing of the projectile, which allows the detonator to be operated. An inertia mass (35) is forced against a spring (36) by the axial force (39) to slide a rod (34) which frees a swinging arm (15). Its hooked end releases another arm (20) interlocked with it, under a centrifugal force. This is swung outwards (42), rotating a spindle (21) controlling the lining mechanism (24 etc.). An upper arm (30) also freed by the sliding rod (34) is then swung outwards (43) in the opposite direction. This carries a disc (33) which unblocks the channel through which the detonator is operated.
