Abstract

The conveyor is made up of a number of belt conveyors in parallel which feed onto sections of roller conveyors. The parcels are then conveyed onto a further belt conveyor. Parallel double sets of roller conveyors cause two parallel lines to converge into one, until a single line belt conveyor carries the parcels over a number of bins for sorting. The roller conveyors are driven in series by Vee-belts along the outer edges of the rollers and at increasing speed, so that the last roller is faster than the first. Similarly the belt conveyor sections travel faster towards the outlet of the system.
