Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé pour produire une substance kératinique réduite dotée d'un pouvoir d'adsorption élevé pour des substances cationiques. Selon l'invention, il comprend les étapes consistant à réduire une substance contenant de la kératine en tant qu'ingrédient principal dans des conditions alcalines pour cliver les liaisons bisulfurées de la kératine, à dissoudre la kératine réduite dans un milieu aqueux contenant de l'urée ou de la thiourée à une concentration inférieure à 5 moles/litre, puis à acidifier la solution en résultant pour précipiter la kératine réduite dans des conditions telles que les chaînes latérales de thiols présentes dans la kératine réduite ne soient pratiquement soumises à aucune oxydation.
