Abstract

On applique sur une surface métallique, en une seule opération, une solution aqueuse renfermant : - des phosphates primaires de fer, zinc ou manganèse formés dans l'acide phosphorique, l'acide borophosphorique ou un ester de l'acide phosphorique; - un agent reducteur contenant des groupes hydroxyle, aldéhyde, cetone ou amine, et étant soit directement dissous dans l'acide phosphorique ou son dérivé, soit combiné à cet acide ou à son dérivé par phosphorisation; - de l'acide chromique ou des sels de cet acide, introduits pour oxyder l'agent réducteur précité, de telle sorte que le chrome hexavalent soit totalement ou partiellement réduit en chrome trivalent, ladite surface étant ensuite séchée. En vue de l'application ultérieure de peinture sur la surface ainsi traitée, on incorpore dans la solution aqueuse de traitement des résines en solution, émulsion ou dispersion aqueuse, sélectionnées parmi celles qui sont stables au pH acide de ladite solution de traitement, sans coaguler ni former de précipités. De cette façon, la préparation des surfaces métalliques est extraordinairement simplifiée car les étapes de phosphatation, de rinçage et de passivation sont en quelque sorte éliminées, se trouvant inclues dans l'application de la première couche de peinture.
