Abstract

L'invention concerne un polyépoxyester, caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend un adduct d'ester d'une résine 1,2-époxy polyfonctionnelle et d'un acide monocarboxylique aliphatique en C8 -C18 environ, ou leurs mélanges, et d'un acide dicarboxylique aliphatique en environ C6 -C10 , le rapport de l'acide dicarboxylique à l'acide monocarboxylique étant d'environ 2 à 5, rapporté au poids équivalent de chaque acide, le rapport des equivalents d'acide carboxylique aliphatique total (acide monocarboxylique plus acide dicarboxylique) aux équivalents d'époxyde étant de 1,0 à 1,2 et de l'anhydride trimellitique, le rapport des équivalents d'anhydride dans ledit anhydride trimellitique aux équivalents d'epoxy étant de 0,15 à 0,35, la réaction entre ladite résine époxy, ledit acide monocarboxylique et ledit acide dicarboxylique étant effectuée dans un solvant au reflux, à température élevée, jusqu'à ce que l'indice d'acide soit de 3-22 et la teneur en époxy de 0,025 à 0,035 milliéquivalent par gramme, pour obtenir un ester initial et réaction dudit ester initial avec l'anhydride trimellitique à une température moins élevée, jusqu'à ce que l'indice d'acide alcoolique et l'indice d'acide aqueux soient sensiblement égaux.
