Abstract

A collapsible support stand has a central member (11) and a plurality of legs (13), each leg having an upper end portion (19) angled to its lower end portion and hinged (25) at the angle between the portions to the central member (11) for rotation relative thereto. When the upper end portion (19) is brought towards the central member (11) the lower end portion of the leg moves away from the central member to a position in which it diverges from the axis of the central member. A cap (12) may be provided for retaining the upper end portions (19) in abutment with the central member when the stand is erected. <IMAGE>
