Abstract

1533165 Scaffolding for operations inside Closed spaces C R BERGESEN [Trading as SIGVAL BERGESEN MEK VERKSTED] 30 April 1976 [2 May 1975] 17804/76 Heading B8H A scaffold for the performance of operations in a closed space, in particular a tank or hold aboard a vessel, comprises a working platform or basket 8 supported by a cantilever 7 from a column 5 which is supported in a device 4 mounted in use on a manhole or the like 3 in the top boundary wall 1 of the space, the device 4 including means 6 adapted to impart axial and rotational movements to the column and the platform or basket 8 supported by the same. As shown the column 5 consists of sections 51, 52 &c., while the cantilever 7 consists of tele scoping sections 71, 72, &c. and the platform or basket 8 is connected with the device 6 through a conduit 9 so that a workman may control the apparatus from the seat of operations.
