Abstract

The relay valve is for rapid ventilation of a compressed air cylinder using a control piston. The piston is charged on one side with control pressure, and on the other side with the working pressure of the cylinder. A tubular valve body has a sealing collar, to open or close a passage between a storage pressure and a working pressure connection of the valve. During an adjustment, movement, the control piston moves the tubular valve, to open the passage. On the control pressure side, the control piston is additionally charged with the force of an adjustable pretensioned spring (13). Back pressure valves (1, 11) allow passage or air only in direction towards the control pressure side. The valves are formed by bores between the two sides of the piston, which are covered by a membrane on the control pressure side.
