Abstract

A special wheel with multiple tyres for vehicles and cooling by air between wheel sides. The wheels can be of spoked or disc centre type and are shaped so as to draw air from the outside and to direct it to the space between tyres. The wheel disc has a series of holes (2) cut radially and across to project air inwards and outwards, thus cooling both sides (5) of the tyres. Various ways of achieving this kind of air flow can be used and the cooling effect can also be applied to disc and drum brakes. Advantages are avoidance of aquaplaning, better tyre life and better vehicle road holding.
