Abstract

The winding mechanism is driven by a motor (1) which has a chain drive connecting it to the clutch (3). The main drive shaft (4) carries the main friction clutch plates (9) operated by the lever (8). A second friction drive (5) is mounted on the side of the hoist drum (6) held in position by the springs (28). A gear wheel (11) on the main shaft meshes with the wheel (12) on the drum shaft. The main shaft has a brake drum (7) and a ratchet on the same assembly which allows the drive when hoisting but not when lowering the load. The brake is operated from a spring (18) bearing on the friction band (17).
