Abstract

Selon l'invention on prépare de l'acide glyoxylique en oxydant le glyoxal par l'acide nitrique en maintenant la concentration d'acide nitrique entre 4 et 10 % en poids par rapport au poids total du système réactionnel, en introduisant de l'oxygène ou un gaz contenant de l'oxygène dans le système réactionnel et en respectant les conditions satisfaisant à la relation KL a.P >= 150, où KL a est le coefficient global de transfert de masse de la phase liquide (l/h) et P est la pression partielle d'oxygène dans le système réactionnel (bars); on peut soumettre le mélange réactionnel obtenu à une purification avec une cellule d'electrodialyse 1. On peut ainsi préparer de l'acide glyoxylique avec des rendements élevés en diminuant la consommation d'acide nitrique et la formation des oxydes d'azote.
