Abstract

A building construction system uses a modular grid for its plan, based on industrial and commercial considerations. These include manufacture, transport and erection. Each module is a rectangle whose sides are in a ratio of 1 x 1.5. This module is of a size to suit the size of standard transport containers. The smallest side can hence be about 2.3m. All the structural elements are light for transport, and can be of wood and metal. The foundations used are dry and the units are supported above ground on height adjustable rods. The wall, roof and floor members arrive on site finished. Rain water is discharged from the support zones.
