Abstract

a. Procédé de préparation d'un copolymère fluoré présentant des groupements échangeurs d'ions. b. Ce copolymère fluoré contenant de 1 à 50 moles % d'un composé présentant un acide carboxylique ou un groupement qui peut etre transformé en acide carboxylique, est obtenu en copolymérisant un monomère éthylénique insaturé fluoré et un monomère fonctionnel présentant le groupement fonctionnel, en présence d'un initiateur de polymérisation dans 0 à 10 moles d'un solvant organique inerte vis-à-vis de la réaction par mole de monomère fonctionnel et sous une pression supérieure à 6kg/cm**2. Le copolymère obtenu présente une valeur TQ supérieure à 150 degrés C et une capacité d'échange d'ions comprise entre 0,5 et 4 meq/g de polymère sec. c. Applications du copolymère de l'invention comme diaphragme dans l'électrolyse du chlorure de sodium.
