Abstract

The cartridge wad for a hunting gun is formed in one piece and made of plastic. A front skirt has lengthwise slots accommodating the lead shot and a rear sealing skirt for the powder. The opposite base sections (1d, 1e) of the front and rear skirts are hemispherical in shape on inside and outside, and their thickness may increase progressively from the centre to the outside. Where the external lateral faces of the skirts and those of the base sections intersect, there may be circular reinforcing sealing belts with shrap ridges (1P). The front skirt can decrease in thickness regularly from the reinforcement to the free end, the external face being cylindrical.
