Abstract

The connector provides an electrical or mechanical connection between a conductor such as the braided outer of a cable or a flat earthing strip and a flat metal surface as required in earth connections. The conductor may be led in parallel or vertical to the metal surface. In the case of vertical connection the conductor (3) is terminated in a short blind cylinder (1) which is crimped upon it. The outer face (13) of the blind end of the cylinder has a short stud or pip (4) which melts as a short duration high current is passed through it to the plate (2) from a capacitor providing a welded connection.
