Elle a pour objet un mécanisme de décompression de moteur dans lequel les soupapes allant à un ou plusieurs cylindres sont verrouillées en position ouverte pour empêcher du carburant d'être aspiré dans le cylindre du moteur durant la course d'admission normale et pour empêcher une contre-pression durant la course de compression. Application : économie de carburant aux vitesses élevées.
