Abstract

The two-stage meat cutting machine first cuts a portion into slices and then cuts each slice into strips, and is for fresh and frozen meat. The portion is initially fed by conveyor belt to a saw-action guillotine and the slices drop between inversely rotating cutting and thrust rollers. The guillotine blade may span horizontally between two rotating wheels, and is pinned in radially offset positions to each wheel face. Wheel rotation thus effects blade descent in combination with lateral motion. The action is suited to cutting frozen meat. The cutting wheel has continuous radial circumferential blades at regular axial intervals and cuts each slice into vertical strips. The trust has circumferential channels housing the blades, of the cutting wheel, and may have projecting nibs on the ribs to enhance the grip on frozen meat.
