Abstract

1302851 Slicers for pastry &c SAYERS (CONFECTIONERS) Ltd 21 Jan 1970 [22 Oct 1968] 50079/68 Heading A4C [Also in Division B5] A slicer, particularly for pastry, such as vanilla slices, consists of a table 2 provided with a plurality of straight slots 3, a stop 4 transverse to said slots having corresponding straight slots 5 and a rotary shaft 6 mounted under the table and carrying a plurality of projecting straight cutting blades 8 arranged helically around said shaft and arranged to pass each through one of the slots in the table on rotation of the shaft. The cutting edges preferably project radially from the shaft. A slab of pastry is placed abutting stop 4 and shaft 6 is rotated through one revolution by motor 7 causing blades 8 to cut sequentially through the pastry. Each knife is positioned as it is about to pass through slots 3 and 5 by guides 9 and 10 respectively. Pieces of pastry carried through the slots are collected by means of shoot 13 and bin 14. A safety guard 11, the closing of which actuates the motor and having a window 12, is provided. A safety friction drive 15 prevents damage should the blades stick in the slots. The slicer is mounted on a frame 1 which is provided with wheels.
