Abstract

On décrit de nouvelles résines aromatiques thermodurcissables et leur transformation en polymères thermostables. Ces résines thermodurcissables consistent en des oligomères fusibles et solubles qui se forment par action du chlorure d'acétyle et du chlorure d'aluminium sur le métaterphényle. Elles sont transformées en polymères thermostables par chauffage à une température supérieure à environ 100 degrés C en présence d'un catalyseur acide. Les polymères thermostables, infusibles et insolubles, peuvent être obtenus sous la forme d'objets moulés ou de matériaux composites. Ils présentent un fort taux de coke, après carbonisation à haute température.
