Abstract

The demountable cutting disc (1) is for use on electric kitchen appliances such as graters or slicers and has a cutter (2), a counter-cutter (3) and n an outlet slot (1e) for the sliced for grated produce. The disc is keyed (1a) onto the drive shaft of the appliance and either the cutter (2) or counter-cutter (3) is demountable relative to the disc (1). The cutting elements are interchangeable and are attached by hinge and spring-clip mechanisms resulting in a greatly simplified tool change. The cutter (2) may be fixed radially on the disc, adjacent to the outlet slot (1e) and cantilevering into a semi-circular recess (1b) in the disc face. The counter-cutter (3) may compromise an edge flanged segmental plate which hinges from the other radial edge (1c) of the recess (1b).
