Abstract

A coated welding electrode comprised a core contg. (by wt.) =0.1% C, =1% Si, 20-28; Ni, 15-25% Cr, 4-8% Mo, 0.1-5% Mn, =0.5% Al, =0.1 Ti and 0.005-0.1% total Ca and/or Mg and bal. Fe and a coating contg. (by. wt.) 20-30pts. CaCO3, 10-22pts. TiO2, 10-22 pts. total MnCO3 and/or MnO2, 10-22 pts. cryolite and 5-15 pts. Nb. Chloride-resistant weld deposits can be obtd. in stainless steel castings. Stainless steel can also be jointed to different alloys. The electrode can also be used for welding different compsns.
