Abstract
Welding electrodes for welding in free air a steel contg. nickel (esp. maraging steels) have a core and a coating respectively of alloy and flux contg. only low quantities of SiO2 and Si and suitable for forming welds comprising C =0.200%, Mn =0.500%, Si =0.500% Ni 2-30%, Cr 0-25%, Mo 0-10%, Co 0-15%, Ti 0.1-3% Al 0-2%, Nb 0-4%, Cu 0-5%, V 0-1% bal Fe. and contain in the core a low C mild steel with low alloying elements esp. Si coated with a special flux contg. in total, 0.100% Si comprising a mixture of (A) AlF3, BaF2, Na2CO3 fluorospar rutile sand, (B) an alloy of Ti, Al, Co, Ni and Mo.
