Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé de traitement d'un courant gazeux contenant des hydrocarbures halogénés en C2 -C4 , lesdits hydrocarbures halogénés étant choisis parmi les hydrocarbures chlorés et bromés. On met le courant gazeux en contact avec une quantité oxydante d'un gaz contenant de l'oxygène en présence d'un catalyseur à base d'oxyde de nickel hydraté à des températures comprises entre 20 degrés C et 500 degrés C et pendant une durée suffisante pour réduire la teneur en hydrocarbures halogénés du courant gazeux. ladite température étant telle qu'elle inhibe la perte d'activité du catalyseur induite par l'eau. Application : réduire dans un courant gazeux la teneur en hydrocarbure halogéné nocif pour l'environnement et l'individu.
