Abstract

L'invention concerne le pastillage de minerai de fer. Elle se rapporte à un procédé de durcissement de pastilles de minerai de fer, traité dans un four à cuve vertical, par introduction de courants d'oxygène dans la partie du four qui se trouve en dessous du point d'introduction des gaz chauds de combustion et dont la température est comprise entre 593 et 1 204 degrés C. Ces courants ont une vitesse minimale et sont introduits de façon relativement rapprochée afin qu'ils pénètrent à une distance de 2,5 à 15 cm dans le lit de pastilles. Application à la préparation des pastilles de minerai de fer d'alimentation des hauts fourneaux.
